Welcome to the Enterprise Le Mans car rental page. Choose from a wide selection of cars ranging from smaller economy cars to larger SUVs and people carriers
Most famous for its 24-hour motor race, Le Mans has a great deal more to offer tourists. The town sits on the Sarthe river, in the north-west of France, making it a convenient stop on a journey south, as well as a destination in its own right. Enterprise services for in Le Mans are available at the train station.
Driving in Le Mans is a convenient way to get around the city, or further afield. Choose your vehicle according to how many people are in your party, and how you plan to spend your time. A mini or economy car, available in petrol or diesel versions, is perfect for city driving and keeps costs low, while our compact, intermediate and standard vehicles are ideal for couples and families. An estate car or compact minivan gives more space for passengers and luggage. Larger groups can hire a seven-seater minivan, and the adventurous will appreciate an SUV for bumpier roads. Our car hire options include all these vehicle classes and more.
For many visitors, the race circuit is the main attraction of Le Mans. As well as the endurance race, the circuit hosts a number of other events throughout the year, including classic car and cycling races. There is also a museum near the circuit, dedicated to the history of the race and featuring historic vehicles. The city has plenty of other attractions, the most famous being the cathedral with its stained glass windows, and the Roman city walls. The old town dates from the Plantagenet period. If you visit in summer, don't miss the evening light show, in which images projected on the walls and buildings tell the town's story. The botanical garden and the arboretum offer green spaces to stroll. A car puts all the city's sights within easy reach, as well as those slightly further afield, like the zoo and the Papea amusement park.
Le Mans is in the heart of the beautiful Loire Valley region, with its rivers and castles. Angers, with its distinctive castle and mediaeval buildings, is an easy day trip, as is Tours, with its cathedral and parks. The city of Orléans, famous for the Siege of Orléans and Joan of Arc, is east of Le Mans, and worth a visit for its cathedral and other historic buildings. Castle fans can also visit Chambord, Alençon, Amboise, and many others. For nature lovers, several national parks are within reach of Le Mans, for hiking, cycling, or just a picnic. The Loire river runs through the Loire-Anjou-Touraine national park, to the south of the city. Paris is a longer drive, at a couple of hours or more, and more suitable for an overnight stay or longer. You'll be surprised how far car rental from Le Mans can take you.
Le Mans has its own local airport for pleasure flights and parachute jumps. The nearest airports for international flights are Angers-Loire and Tours Val de Loire. Both airports are less than an hour's drive from Le Mans, Angers-Loire along the A11 motorway and Tours Val de Loire on the A28. Enterprise is available at both locations.
Le Mans has plenty of car parks, putting all the city's attractions within easy walking distance. There is parking at the station, in the old town, and at shopping and sightseeing destinations. Do bear in mind that the roads and car parks will be busier during races, and that some roads may be closed off.
