Welcome to the Enterprise Gatwick car rental page. Choose from a wide selection of cars ranging from smaller economy cars to larger SUVs and people carriers
Gatwick is best known for its airport, which after London Heathrow is the second busiest in the UK. Gatwick is also a well-placed gateway to the whole south-east of England, one of the most vibrant and attractive regions in the country, as well as being just a stone’s throw from London.
Within 30 minutes of leaving the airport, you could be discovering the cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton, exploring historic market towns, such as Horsham, or taking a stroll through beautiful woodlands, chalk downlands or along the stunning coastline. A whole world of attractions and experiences is open to the visitor, and all are easily accessible by road.
Enterprise’s branch is conveniently located within the airport compound, so travellers can pick up their vehicle straight from their flight. Located just off the main artery, the M23/A23 that runs from London down to Brighton, Gatwick airport is in the ideal spot for picking up and dropping off a hire car. A vehicle can be pre-booked online or arranged from either of the airport terminals.
Enterprise offers all standards and classes of vehicle, from small economy cars that are well suited to exploring the region’s towns and cities to larger MPVs and 4x4s for more rural adventures. Examples of smaller vehicles available from Gatwick include the Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Focus and Skoda Octavia, while larger vehicles include the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer and SEAT Alhambra or similar. All are subject to availability.
Directly south, in the town of Crawley, are several attractions for the visitor, such as the Hawth Theatre and the Archway Theatre, Crawley Museum, Gatwick Aviation Museum and the state of the art K2 Leisure Centre, with over 40 sports on offer.
Along with the many attractive towns and villages of the region are many notable and contemporary attractions, as well as family experiences and countryside discoveries. Renting a car in Gatwick is the ideal way to get out and about and explore the region’s many historic country houses and beautifully designed and maintained gardens. At Handcross, a village off the A23 just four miles south of Crawley, is Nymans, one of the jewels of the National Trust and famed for its Edwardian garden, romantic ruins and rare and unusual plant collections. There are also beautiful walks within the property’s 275 acres of woodland. Nearby is Wakehurst Place, the countryside satellite garden of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and home to the Millennium Seed Bank, where visitors can watch science and conservation at work through a series of exhibits and open glass panels with views into the laboratories. Other gardens in the area include Borde Hill, Batemans, Standen, High Beeches and Sheffield Park, with the latter two particularly impressive in autumn.
Brighton is just a short drive south with the A23, leading directly into the city. There is plenty of parking available in the city, within easy reach of the city centre attractions and the many pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants. The North Laine is a thriving area of independent and alternative shops and cafes, while further south, the Lanes are home to many designer, antique and jewellery stores. Other attractions include the Royal Pavilion, the seaside pleasure palace of King George IV and a majestic structure inspired by the exotic East, with its many-domed roof and grand internal décor. There is also a pleasant garden surrounding the Pavilion, which also leads on to the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, with its notable art collections and exhibits exploring the city’s history. Brighton Pier, and of course the beach itself, with its cafes and quirky shops, is just a short walk away, while Brighton Dome, just next to the museum, offers a thriving calendar of cultural events, from theatre and panto to contemporary dance and circus.
Those taking advantage of a hire car can also head further into the region’s stunning countryside, for example, taking in the South Downs National Park and beautiful towns and villages, such as Arundel, Petworth, Midhurst, Amberley and Pulborough.
Gatwick, the second busiest airport in the UK, consists of two terminals – the North and South Terminals. The South Terminal is responsible for most domestic and international flights, and most airlines fly from here. Airlines flying from the North Terminal include British Airways, some easyJet flights, Emirates and Aeroflot. Travelling between the two terminals is quick and easy with the free shuttle service, and Enterprise has a kiosk in both locations for your convenience.
The Enterprise pick-up point leads on to Airport Way and then directly onto the M23, which then leads either north or south and connects with other major roads in the region.
