Our Vehicles For Hire In Stirling

By organising a car rental, Stirling and the surrounding region are yours to discover. We have a selection of modern and clean vehicles, from compact cars and saloons to larger SUVs and vans. Offering such stunning scenery and impressive landscapes, it would be a shame to miss the views Stirling has to offer by being restricted to the train or bus schedules. With a hired car, you have the flexibility to explore less-travelled routes, especially remote destinations in the striking Scottish Highlands. Our modern fleet of comfortable vehicles at our Stirling branch provides you with lots of choices, whether you are visiting the region on your own or with a large group.

You can choose from mini or compact cars, or saloons with additional space. We also have SUVs if you need more power to truly experience the remote beauty of Scotland. An SUV also gives you the space and comfort you need for longer trips. Our fleet also includes premium cars from Mercedes, other manufacturers, so you can travel in luxury and style. We have a selection of people carriers, with additional space not available on standard vehicles with five seats. Whether for a wedding or just a holiday with friends, a people carrier lets everyone in your group travel together. We also have a variety of vans to rent, too.

Attractions In Stirling

At the edge of Stirling’s Old Town is Stirling Castle, one of the best-preserved castles in Scotland. Once the site of conspiracies and plots, costumed performers now bring the history of the castle and its Royal Palace to life. Beyond exploring the medieval Old Town, Stirling’s other major attractions include the Smith Art Gallery and Museum. Art and other objects linked to Stirling and Stirlingshire are on display, including what is believed to be the world’s oldest football.

With your car, Stirling has much more to offer beyond the city centre. Top attractions, including the National Wallace Monument overlooking the city, are just a short drive away. The memorial north of the city centre honours William Wallace, the victor of the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, and subject of the Academy Award-winning film “Braveheart”. The site provides a spectacular view of the city and surrounding area. Stirling Old Bridge was the site of Wallace’s victory against the English during Scotland’s battle for independence, although the original wooden crossing has long been replaced by a 16th-century stone bridge. Other highlights include the ruins of Cambuskenneth Abbey, where the grave of James III is found.

Places To Visit Outside Stirling

Take time from your visit to Stirling to explore major cities throughout central Scotland. Glasgow is about 28 miles from Stirling via the M80 motorway, while Edinburgh is 35 miles away via the M9. This means two of Scotland’s most popular tourist destinations are within a half-hour drive of Stirling.

Also nearby is the Bridge of Allan, a picturesque town within the woods of the Ochil Hills. The 19th-century spa resort has a wealth of Victorian villas and buildings. The medieval Dunblane Cathedral dates to the 11th century, although much of the Gothic church is from the 13th century. The Battle of Bannockburn Experience is one of the region’s most popular attractions. It sits on one of the most important historic sites in Scotland and uses 3D technology to bring the 1314 battle to life. Another must-see is the Deanston Distillery in Doune, eight miles from Stirling. The town is home to Doune Castle, made famous more recently as the set for the television series “Outlander”.

Stirling is also at the doorstep of some of Scotland’s most striking natural wonders. Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park’s inspiring mountains and wild landscapes are best explored with a rented car. There is plenty to do in the national park, including kayaking on Loch Lomond and walking along trails with views of Ben Lomond. You can also drive further north into the Scottish Highlands to visit iconic historic and natural wonders, such as Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles.

Airport Car Hire

Edinburgh Airport is just 29 miles from Stirling and accessible in under an hour via the M9. The airport is Scotland’s busiest airport and is located just off the M8 and M9 motorways. Our branch is conveniently located in the airport’s car rental centre, which is a short walk from the terminal building. Our large fleet of vans and cars ranges from small compact cars to larger people carriers.

Stirling is also close to Glasgow Airport, which provides more international flights than Edinburgh Airport. Glasgow Airport is less than an hour’s drive to the south-west of Stirling, via the M8 and M80. Our branch at the airport will get you on your way to Stirling quickly and without hassle. Vehicles range from hatchback and larger saloon and estate vehicles to people carriers and SUVs. Premium vehicles are also available at our Glasgow Airport branch, inside the terminal building.

Parking And Traffic Information In Stirling

All of Stirling’s top attractions are easily accessible by car and include dedicated parking facilities. These include Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, in addition to the Bridge of Allan and the Battle of Bannockburn Experience outside of the city centre. Parking spots may become sparse during peak times, so visitors should allow plenty of time to park when visiting these attractions. Similarly, routes into the Scottish Highlands become congested during sunny weekends and bank holidays. Roads in more remote areas can be narrow, so drive carefully. Stirling Council operates more than 30 car parks in the city, which are either pay-and-display or free. There are also numerous private car parks throughout the city centre.
