Dundee in Scotland is situated in the Eastern Central Lowlands on the Firth of Tay. The city has two football teams, Dundee United and Dundee F.C. and is famous the world over for the fruit cake and thick-cut marmalade that bear its name. Dundee is home to a university and is also a busy port. Michelin, Aviva and Asda are just some of the large business concerns operating from the city. Dundee offers visitors a range of attractions. Robert Falcon Scott’s ship, RRS Discovery, was built in the area and is currently on display. Those with an interest in history can visit Mains Castle or Dudhope, or take a look at the Dundee High School, built in the Gothic Revival style. In contrast, the Morgan Academy, built in 1863, is in the Dutch Gothic style. Opportunities for shopping are plentiful, with the usual high street big names mixed in among smaller independent stores and boutiques. Dundee hosts a film festival each November and the town has two multiplex cinemas.
