Tromso Langnes Airport is located 5.4 km northwest of Tromso on the edge of Tromsoya island. It takes about 12 minutes to make the drive between the city centre and the airport via Norwegian County Road 862. The 862 road connects to the European route E8 at the airport's boundaries for swift road connections throughout Northern Norway. The airport is located close to the communities of Hapet and Kvaloysletta, the latter reachable via the Sandnessund Bridge.
As an international airport, Tromso Langnes Airport offers travel both domestically and through Europe. In Norway, there are regular connections to Alta, Bergen, Bodo, Kirkenes, Oslo and Trondheim, among others, as well as to the island of Svalbard (Longyearbyen). International routes include Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gdansk and Helsinki, with seasonal links to Amsterdam, London, Munich, Paris, Vienna and Zürich.
Tromso Langnes Airport serves Tromso as one of Northern Norway's most important airports. This provides a gateway to the northern fjords, Tromso's Arctic Cathedral and a wide range of Northern Lights and midnight sun-related attractions. Take the cable car up Fjellheisen to Mount Storsteinen or learn about expeditions at the Polar Museum. Car hire in Tromso Langnes Airport provides access to the Troms og Finnmark region via the E6 and E8 highways.
