Hiring a car at Luxembourg Airport (LUX)

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is available at Luxembourg Airport (LUX) for convenient travel in Luxembourg. The rental kiosk is located in the terminal building at the car rental quarter. Its full address is Aeroport De Luxembourg, L 2987, Luxembourg, LU, 2987. You can pick up a car or van hire in Luxembourg Airport daily, usually from 08:00 to 22:30. Times are reduced on Tuesdays (09:00 to 17:00), Saturdays (09:00 to 17:00) and Sundays (14:30 to 22:30).

Luxembourg Airport is located 8.4 km east of Luxembourg's city centre in the village of Findel, close to Sandwiler and the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Hamm. It takes approximately 17 minutes to drive from LUX to the city centre via the N1 or N2 road routes, adjacent roads that serve airport-city traffic. You can also approach the city via the A1-A6, which acts as a ring road for travel to non-central zones.

Luxembourg Airport is both Luxembourg's principal airport and its main centre for international travel. It handles over 4 million passengers per year and is the hub for Luxair, Luxembourg's flag carrier, with destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Its busiest routes include Porto, Lisbon, Munich, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Seasonal flights are also offered to serve Europe's summer tourist season.

Luxembourg Airport is the only international airport in Luxembourg. Thus, it serves the entire country. Those in the central canton of Luxembourg are its nearest users, allowing access to Niederanven, Hesperange, Contern and Walferdange, among other communes. Car hire in Luxembourg Airport is useful for travellers exploring more than just Luxembourg City, offering road links to Château de Vianden, Bock Casemates and Château de Bourscheid.

Rental Policies

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. Additional drivers can be added at any rental location and at any time during the rental. An additional driver fee of 5.13 EUR per day (excl. VAT) applies up to a maximum charge of 25.64 EUR (excl. VAT).

After hours return is available, and the process will be explained upon vehicle pick-up. Renters must advise the counter agent upon arrival if they require after hours return. There is no additional charge for this service.

The minimum age requirement for all vehicles is 18, and all renters must have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months prior to the rental. There is no maximum age. A young driver fee of 8.55 EUR per day (excl. VAT) applies for all renters between the ages of 18 and 23.

Vehicles can be driven in the following countries only:
Austria, Albania, Andorra, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Morocco, Montenegro, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
No additional charges apply for cross-border travel. In all cases, customers must inform the rental branch of their intention to leave the country with the vehicle and will require an authorisation.
Unauthorised cross-border travel will result in a breach of contract and incur a penalty charge based on individual assessment.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces the liability of the renter in the event of damage to the bodywork of the vehicle. If CDW is not included in the reservation, the renter has liability for up to the full market value of the vehicle. CDW is available for purchase if not included in the booking.

If included in the reservation, the excess amount ranges between 900 EUR and 2200 EUR depending on the car class. Excess will be charged every time a vehicle is damaged.
Before purchasing CDW, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If CDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. The Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance.

Delivery and collection are available throughout Luxembourg during office opening hours. There is a charge for this service, which depends on the distance between the delivery/collection point and the rental branch. Please contact your local branch for more information.

Domestic one-way rentals are available at all locations within Luxembourg for consumer and tour bookings. Domestic one-way rentals within Luxembourg are free of charge. There is no minimum rental length required to qualify for this service.
One-way rentals returning outside of Luxembourg require specific authorisation from the rental location. The fee for this service varies depending on the drop-off location.
Renters must provide at least 24 hours' notice if they intend to drop the vehicle off outside Luxembourg. Dropping the vehicle off outside Luxembourg without prior authorisation will result in a penalty charge based on individual assessment.

Excess Protection (EP) is an optional coverage available to the renter. EP is only available to purchase if CDW is selected or included in the reservation. The purchase of EP waives liability in cases of damage to the bodywork of the rental vehicle. EP does not cover damage to the tyres, rims and windscreens, loss of keys or misfuelling.

Before purchasing EP, it is advisable to determine if the renter's personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If SCDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges up to the Damage Waiver excess amount and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. SCDW is not insurance. In cases of damage to the rental vehicle, an additional handling fee surcharge of 50.00 EUR incl. VAT will apply.

Option 1 — Pre-pay fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for the tank of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel.

Option 2 — We refill
This option allows the renter to pay Enterprise at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. Price per litre will be equal to the local fuel prices and subject to an additional administration fee of EUR 12.00 (excl. VAT).

Option 3 — You refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank to avoid extra fuel charges.

Winter tires are provided as these are required by law. Winterization fee effective from 01-Nov to 31-Mar applies to Luxembourg rentals at rate of 3.00 EUR per day.

All major credit cards, issued by either VISA, Mastercard or Amex, are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Debit cards, pre-paid cards, cash and cheques are not accepted. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental.

The security deposit is based upon the excess on the contract. Purchase of protection products will result in a lower deposit amount. The minimum deposit is 250 EUR.

Roadside assistance is included in the rental rate. The roadside services covered are: on-site assistance, towing and onward travel to the nearest transport solution agreed with Enterprise. Customers will be given the roadside assistance phone number when they arrive at the counter to collect the rental vehicle. The roadside assistance service provider will vary depending on the type of vehicle rented.

All drivers must present a full valid driving licence. All renters must also provide a valid photo ID such as a passport or ID card. A valid credit card in the renter's name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle.
If the driving licence is written in a language and characters different from those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licences from countries that are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.
Residents of the country of rental must provide proof of residence. Proof of residence (a utility bill, credit card bill or bank statement) must be no more than three months old. Renters who do not reside in the country of rental must also provide proof of return travel and accommodation information.
Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if needed, which may include an identity check with an external organisation.

All the vehicles in our fleet are insured against damage or injuries caused to third parties and third-party property as a result of an accident involving the rental vehicle. You must comply with all of the rental company's terms and conditions in order to receive the benefit of the insurance provisions.

Windshield Protection (WDW) is an optional protection available to the renter. WDW provides cover for the windscreen of the rental vehicle only. If WDW is accepted, the excess amount is EUR 0 on the windscreen. If WDW is not purchased, the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages to the windscreen.
