Community

Supporting communities now and into the future

Since our founding in 1957, Enterprise has been dedicated to strengthening the communities where customers and employees live and work. Even as we’ve expanded across the globe, we remain true to that same commitment: supporting programs, practices, and partners that improve the quality of life in the places that we call home.

Enterprise Holdings ROAD Forward (Respect, Opportunity, Achievement, Diversity)

When we deepen Respect, we expand Opportunity. When we expand opportunity, we enable Achievement. And when we enable achievement, we unleash the power of Diversity in our neighborhoods and our workplaces.

In November 2020, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation pledged £40 million over five years to organisations that advance social and racial equity in the communities where the company operates. Donations made under the new Enterprise Holdings ROAD Forward initiative will encompass three racial equity gaps that need urgent attention: early childhood development, youth health and wellness, and career and college preparation.

Enterprise Holdings ROAD Forward will invest £25 million to Enterprise’s 70+ global operating teams over the next five years, empowering employees to identify the most pressing issues in their communities related to the programme’s three focus areas and support the local organisations best equipped to address them.

This includes support of 17 national organisations across Europe, such as Children's Books Ireland (Ireland), Children for a better World e.V. (Germany), Sport Dans la Ville (France), and Fundación MAPFRE (Spain), among others.

Throughout the U.K., we are delighted to support early childhood development with the National Literacy Trust, youth health and wellness with The Girls Network and career and college preparation with Student MindsThe Sutton Trust and UpReach

Additionally, as part of the programme, Enterprise is allocating £14 million across four nationally renowned nonprofit partners in the U.S. – The Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper AllianceUNCF (United Negro College Fund), Girls Inc. and Parents as Teachers – as part of our commitment to young people and families in underserved communities.

In July 2021, Enterprise Holdings awarded more than more than £5 million in inaugural local ROAD Forward grants to nearly 700 nonprofits addressing social and racial equity gaps in their communities.
